Custom Order Policy

Shedeck Woodworks

Every custom piece is handcrafted to meet the specifications agreed upon with the customer. Because these projects require dedicated materials, planning, and labor, the following terms apply.

1. Quotes and Order Approval

Before production begins, customers will receive a quote outlining the project specifications, total price, payment requirements, and estimated shipping date.

An order is confirmed when the customer accepts the quote and makes the required payment.

Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving dimensions, materials, hardware, engraving, and other agreed specifications before production begins.

2. Payment and Deposits

Custom orders may require a deposit of up to 50% of the quoted price before work begins, with the remaining balance due before shipment. Smaller orders may require full payment upfront.

Specific payment requirements will be disclosed in the quote.

Deposits are applied toward the total purchase price and may be retained to cover reasonable, documented losses resulting from customer cancellation, subject to applicable law.

3. Cancellations

Customers may request cancellation by contacting Shedeck Woodworks.

  • Before work or expenses begin: A full refund will be provided.
  • After work or expenses begin: Refunds may be reduced by reasonable, documented costs and losses associated with the cancellation, including custom design work, labor already performed, and nonrecoverable materials purchased for the project.
  • After completion: Custom pieces completed according to approved specifications are not eligible for change-of-mind returns or refunds, except where required by law.

We will make reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary additional costs following a cancellation request and will explain any deductions from a refund.

4. Changes to Custom Orders

Customers may request modifications at any point, but changes are not guaranteed once production begins.

Changes that require additional materials, labor, or production time may result in an updated quote or completion date. Any additional charges must be approved before the modified work begins.

5. Natural Wood Characteristics

Wood is a natural material. Variations in grain, color, pattern, and other natural characteristics are expected and contribute to the uniqueness of each handcrafted piece.

These normal characteristics are not considered defects when the finished piece otherwise meets the agreed specifications and applicable quality standards.

6. Production and Shipping

Estimated production and shipping dates will be communicated before payment.

If an order cannot ship within the agreed timeframe, customers will be notified and offered the options required by applicable consumer protection laws, including cancellation and a full refund where required.

7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

If an order arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the agreed specifications, please contact us promptly with photographs and a description of the issue.

Shedeck Woodworks will work with the customer toward an appropriate resolution, which may include repair, replacement, or refund. Applicable consumer warranty and refund rights remain in effect.

8. Custom Order Agreements

For larger or more complex projects, additional terms may be established in the written quote or project agreement.

Any such terms must be agreed upon before payment and will apply to that project to the extent permitted by law.
